wap.mom prints Wondering About Pi, a periodical of record about π and pie. Issue n is π to n decimal places, No. 3.1, 3.14, 3.141, so it cannot run out. The e Supplement is bound in, numbered 2.7, 2.71.
Pages are set like print: double rules, a drop cap, a citation line, and an offprint and a clipping card for every issue. Every issue closes on uses: something for the hand, the table, the work, and the mind. A 10-inch pan takes about 31½ inches of ribbon. One 18-inch pizza is more pizza than two 12-inch ones. Each figure is an instrument, not an illustration. Archimedes’ polygons, Buffon’s needles, the Leibniz zigzag, and compounding against e redraw from a plain form with no script, and follow the hand when there is one.
Role
A periodical of record. An issue moves from open, a question the room is holding, to draft, printed as galley proof, to set. A set issue changes only by correction, and the corrections column says when none have been necessary.
Relation
Written in a room that can be read on stream: house style, open questions, and every issue live in one file. Contributors are named only with their say-so, as at RPG Wednesday. Pie gets the same care as π, beside the recipes here; approximation sits next to numerical methods.
