For authors, illustrators, and independent makers who want their work to land as carefully as it was written.
I personally offer cover design, illustration, ebook formatting, interactive book covers, and public series homes. I also know the right editors and co-writers for several genres — if the work you need is writing alongside your draft, I can pass the thread along without losing it.
What I Do Myself
Cover Design
Covers that do the full weight of positioning the book: genre legibility, quiet type, and an image that survives thumbnail size. I draw before I lay out, which means the final cover has real art at its core rather than a stock assembly.
From $1,200. Typical turn: two to three release cycles (four to six weeks). Not included in a series opening — add it if the story needs a face.
Illustration
Interior plates, chapter heads, ornamental initials, endpapers, character studies. If you have a manuscript and a feeling for its visual register, I can meet it. I work in digital ink and graphite, and I'm comfortable matching an existing series.
From $250 per plate. One close for a single plate; a small set across two cycles. Series discounts on request.
Ebook Formatting & Typography
Semantically clean EPUB and reflow-friendly digital typesetting. No bloated markup, no chapter-break weirdness — just careful HTML that reads correctly on any device, with typography that respects the prose.
From $600. One close. Accessibility pass included: reading order, alt text, language tagging. Pairs with an opening when the story also sells as a file.
Interactive Book Covers
A traditional cover is static. An interactive cover is a small, fast canvas that responds to touch, scroll, or device tilt — a storefront that feels alive. Priced competitively to give independent authors a memorable landing page.
From $1,500. One to two closes. A storefront page, not a series home — ships as a drop-in you can host anywhere.
Series Home
A public place for a story to live — chapters someone can open, not only a file in a store.
Bring notes, a manuscript, or a series already in motion. You do not need a new writing format first. The work is a reading surface that composes from named pieces: a home, chapter pages, a share image. Cover, ebook, and plates stay optional add-ons. lore.land is the working example — a show that is also a book.
You keep the world. This is a home for it, not a transfer of rights. An author site is about you; an opening is about the story.
Opening
Public home, three chapter pages, one share image. Enough to send someone to the story instead of describing it.
$4,000. One or two closes on the 13th / 26th cadence — usually four to six weeks if the prose is ready.
Further chapter
One more public chapter page on a home that already exists. Same reading path, no new shell.
$800. One close, if the chapter is in hand.
Series home
Opening plus ten further chapter pages and a reading path — thirteen chapters, a season you can point at. Extra pages after that are still $800.
$12,000. A season: typically six to eight closes, not a single dump.
Larger worlds
When the work already has more than one book, a live audience, or a show running beside it. We talk first; the quote follows the actual shape.
By conversation. Landmarks still follow the 13th and 26th.
Common pairs, if you want a face or a store file as well: opening + cover $5,200; opening + ebook $4,600; series home + cover $13,200. A $500 taste pass before a close is optional — the orbit reads the page, you get one note. Pieces can also stand alone.
Handwritten .scene notes from a table or a Dregg crew share can stay scenes. The series home is the public companion — same story, a room someone can open without the vault. That path is optional; a manuscript is enough.

Developmental, line, and copy — matched to the kind of feedback you actually want at this stage. If what you have is a first draft, you don't need a copy editor yet.
Writing Alongside
Ghostwriting, collaboration, or developmental writing in a genre you trust them to honor. Romance, literary fiction, memoir, middle-grade, technical nonfiction — different people, different genres.
How the intro works
Tell me what the project is and where you are with it. I'll suggest one to three people who fit. You take it from there — I stay available for context if useful, and step back if not.
Referring feels risky when it implies the thought is over. This network is kept as a living page so a referral is really a bookmark — you can return, compare, and decide again.
First Beat
Start smaller than a season. Five voices make twenty-five scenes if you count; that count is a porch for choosing, not a catalog.
Name the beat: unary (one close), pair (two pieces), season (a book of holds).
The rate list is the exchange channel. Palette and emphasis change how it looks, not what it costs.
Unary — one close
One voice loud. A proof card, a plate, a taste pass, a scope note. $250–$750. One 13th or 26th.
Pair — two named pieces
Taste plus a plate. Cover plus formatting. Two holdings in one beat. Typical $750–$1,800.
Season — a book of holds
Opening or series home: several closes, several chapters. Instruments that stay in relation, not one ticker stretched.
Same five names in the mixer and the lab. Return here after you can say which voice is loud.

Starting points — most projects land in these ranges. Tighter budgets are welcome conversations; I'd rather underscope a real thing than overscope a hypothetical one.
