? Probe
? measures a surface and leaves the source as it was. @ situates a viewpoint, which is a different sign. The runtime calls it wonder; probe is its public alias.
Ask first. A probe shows what a surface holds before anything commits to changing it.
Contract
In hand
Ask, filter, or reveal. A missed target explains its absence, and the source stays as it was.
What it means
The mark is an open question. After you look, the alternatives you passed over can still be sitting there.
Brace Physics
The brace opens only to the seam. Curiosity stays low charge until a later commit.
Before and after
Prefix ?x primes the next unit as question. Postfix x? marks uncertainty that remains after reading.
