What it means
The mark is the stage. Probe, reference, merge, and value can share it long enough for a pattern to appear. The pattern belongs to their company in the room.
Brace Physics
The brace is the local coordinate: what is visible, what is held back, and where a transformation can occur. Leaving leaves a way to return.
Before and after
Prefix (x stages the next unit. Postfix x) marks a unit still in midprocess.
